Waitlist and Referrals

Clear, simple steps to access services including funding options, waitlist pathways, and what to expect.

Our Waitlist Pathways

We have two distinct waitlists designed to best suit your needs: one for assessment services and another for ongoing therapy. This allows us to streamline the process and ensure you are placed on the most appropriate pathway for your situation.

Assessment Only Waitlist

Best suited for:

  • Initial assessment
  • Review of current skills
  • Recommendations and reports

This pathway is for individuals who:

  • Want an assessment without ongoing therapy at this stage
  • Need information to guide next steps

Ongoing Therapy Waitlist

Best suited for:

  • Regular therapy sessions
  • Ongoing, goal-based support

Please note:

  • Placement depends on therapist availability
  • Preferred days and times impact wait time
  • We match clients based on individual needs and therapist skillset

Funding Options

We offer a range of funding options to help individuals and families access speech pathology support.

Private

For individuals who are self-funding therapy, private appointments are available.

You do not need for a referral.

Sessions are paid per appointment.

We are able to offer flexible access to speech pathology support tailored to individual needs.

Medicare/Private Health

Some clients may be eligible for Medicare rebates through a GP referral.

These referrals need to be completed prior to any appointments.

Private health Insurance rebates may also apply. Please check with your provider on your level of cover as this can vary.

NDIS

We support clients who are:

  • Self-managed
  • Plan-managed

We are unable to accept agency-managed NDIS funding.

If you're unsure about your funding type, please contact us before joining the waitlist.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers to common questions about referrals, wait times, and getting started.

What Impacts Wait Times

Wait times can vary depending on:

  • Therapist availability
  • Preferred days and times (after-school times are in high demand)
  • Location (clinic, school, or community)
  • Type of service required

We aim to match each client with the most appropriate therapist to ensure quality and consistency of care.

For Support Coordinators

When submitting a referral, please include:

  • Participant contact details
  • Preferred contact person for booking
  • Funding management type
  • Any relevant reports or background information

This helps us process referrals efficiently and minimise delays.

What happens next?

  • Submit your referral using the appropriate waitlist form
  • We will review and triage the referral
  • You will be contacted when a suitable appointment becomes available
  • We may send occasional updates — please add info@speechforeveryone.com.au to your contacts to ensure you receive them

Do I need a referral?

No — you do not need a GP referral to access our services.

Can I join both waitlists?

No — please select the pathway that best matches what you are looking for.

If you're unsure which option is most appropriate, please contact us before submitting your referral.

Do you offer sessions at school or in the community?

Yes — we offer sessions in a range of environments depending on individual needs and availability.

This may include:

  • Clinic-based sessions
  • School visits (where the school allows access)
  • Community settings, including Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Home visits are generally not offered, however may be considered in specific circumstances (e.g. where a client is unable to attend other settings).
